Ten scalp coolers for J80 which is the day chemotherapy ward at The Bexley Wing - Leeds Cancer Centre. These prevent hair loss during treatment and have cost £110,000.

A lead nurse in Systemic Anti Cancer Therapy. This is the treatment of cancers using specialist medicines, chemotherapy and drugs to modify how the body’simmune system responds. The cost being £56,000.

Two venepuncture / cannulation arms. These are essential and used to train doctors and nurses how to cannulate patients for both scans and treatment. A cost of £1,072.

Fifteen drip stands for J89. These are vital for patient care and need to be available to provide efficient administration of drugs. The cost being £3,087.

The re-furbishment of J95, this is the waiting area for patients who have come in for emergency assessment. This includes comfortable and appropriate seating, a coffee machine and a relaxing, calming environment for patients and families who spend an amount of time waiting to be seen and treated. The cost of this is £18,416.

Enhanced remote control reclining armchairs for chemotherapy patients on J80. This is the day ward where on an average day they treat over 80 patients in allforms of chemotherapy. These are crucial for patient comfort. A cost of £14,992.

J94 art therapy, this helps with patients recovery. The cost being £229.

J94 a LED panel to the ceiling of the surge room. This is used for patients in isolation but does not have any natural light from windows. The surge panel providesan image of the sky so that when patients are laid down they have a focal point. The cost of this is £1,780.

Two vital sign monitors for the radiotherapy department. At a cost of £3,720.

J81/HDU can be a very clinical environment and patients are often critically ill or are being monitored after extensive surgery for cancer. To make it more homely we have funded comfortable chairs to improve rehabilitation. Dementia clocks to help them re-orientate, artwork to the walls of the ward for a better patient experience and finally night lamps that provide a much more calming aura. The total cost of this is £17,661.

A hoist for the radiotherapy department, to assist less mobile patients in their treatment. This was funded in loving memory of Jason Salvin. The cost being £3,615.

The Bexley Hotel is situated on the top floor of the hospital and is there for patients free of charge who do not live locally that need to be treated each day but do not have to be on a ward, such as for radiotherapy. It is also used for families when they need to be close by their loved ones. We have funded new TV’s and kettles for the rooms at a cost of £9,838.

Patients on J94 are often critically ill and can be there a long time. We have donated £1,000 so that the nurses can buy cards, gifts etc for patients on their birthdays or special occasions.

A bladder scanner for the radiotherapy department. This helps significantly with the process of treatment for patients. The cost being £7,025.

J80 pagers so that when patients arrive at the day ward if there are long delays, they are able to go have a coffee in the hospital while waiting and are then paged when required for treatment. The cost is £2,370.

Six vital sign monitors for outpatients at a cost of £9,300.

Four mobility dignity screens at a cost of £12,312.

Four visitors mattresses and beds for the Bexley Hotel. The cost being £1,012.

Two phlebotomy chairs for J80 at a cost of £1,997.

A Bereavement Nurse for Palliative and End of Life Care. The hospital has an excellent reputation for end of life care, ensuring that patients individual needs are met, aiming to get the care right for both them and their families at such a difficult time. The role also included education andsupport for ward staff who experience distress following patient care they have been involved in. The cost of this is £53,000.

The Crosses and Hearts given to cancer patients that have a faith or none, these are known to bring peace and comfort to a patient during their stay inhospital and as something to take away. They are also kept with the patient after death. Cost of this is £2,000.

Fluorescence Assessment Software - High-Contrast Fluorescence is used in biopsies and tumour removal to discriminate cancer cells/tissue from normal cells. The cost being £3,000.

Chester Chest - This is to teach both patients & their carers how to kook after their PICC or Hickman lines. This gives patients receiving treatment more independence at home. The cost being £1,463.

Chemo Trolleys - Specifically for J80 the day ward. These are vital as they hold all the necessary items the nurses require to treat patients on chemotherapy. The cost of these is £3,240.

The Journey Of Cancer Medicine - The Journey Of Cancer Medicine Poster for J80 the day ward. This shows the journey that a patient can expect when they start treatment. This is so helpful & reassuring for patients who may feel anxious at the start of treatment. The cost is £990.

Drip Stands - Specifically purchased for J80. These are vital for patient care to efficiently administer drugs. The cost is £1,745.
