Schools Pack
We have developed an educational pack filled with fun activities to help youngsters understand the importance of sun protection. With the help of our characters Edi, Hassan, and Chen, young people will be able to gain a better understanding of how to protect their skin from the sun’s harmful rays.
In 2016 I launched my Jacqui’s Million appeal through Leeds Hospitals Charity, No. 1170369 to help other cancer patients, raise awareness and also well needed funds. Jacqui’s Million is proud to work in partnership with the charity and Leeds Cancer Centre is part of Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Awareness is key but with sun damage it really is about education which needs to start in childhood, so last year I was very proud to publish a book with my friend Sandra Hudson “Adventures in the sun with Edi, Hassan & Chen” The book is aimed at primary school age children and their families to make them understand the importance of sun awareness in a child friendly way with no mention of the big "C".
The lovely engaging narrative was written by my friend Sandra Hudson who is an ex school teacher and a fellow cancer patient, with stunning hand drawn illustrations by Rob Gilroy.
The book is fun, bright and engaging with things to find in the pictures, colouring and writing too! But the underlying message is staying safe in the sun. 80% of sun damage happens before the age of 18 and 86% of melanoma cases are preventable, we can reduce these statistics with the right education at an early age.
